WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER ENROLLMENT / REGISTRATION

Class hours typically run from 8:30am - 4:30pm, Virtual Training in most cases, 9am - Noon on days noted.
The Online Course Application allows an individual to enroll for a seat in OBOA Training Courses available on the Training Calendar. Following enrollment for a seat in OBOA Training, payment must be made to complete the registration process. When payment has been made, you will receive confirmation to the email you provided unpon enrollment. This confirmation is the final step and includes all the information you require to attend the course. Course confirmations are sent out within a 24 hour schedule including the required information to successfully prepair for your course. If you are a OBOA member and you do not recieve a confirmation you can check your members records reprint your Training Confirmation and payment information. This service requires you to register your email on our website, we encourage you to be a member to enhance the speed up your turn around time. Instruction on completeing this process call the OBOA office for assistance. Member or Non-Member it is important that your email is up to date to recieve any corrospondence from any OBOA services.

To receive a confirmation from the OBOA Office you must complete these steps:

1. Fill out online registration successfully.
2. Provide payment for the seat in the class and secure payment.
3. Do not choose to be excluded from email communications. (see communications)
4. Then receive a Training Confirmation from OBOA by email that you are enrolled for the course that you registered for online.

(Payment must be secured and processed at the OBOA office prior to the first day of class. Once again, You can pay, reprint invoicing or course confirmation in your members records. This Registration form is electronically set for cut-off dates and electronic enrolment is not possible after cut off dates pass. For enrolment after cut off date, please contact the OBOA office for available space. Only correct and accurate registrations will be accepted, otherwise this form will not produce your confirmation. "The OBOA assumes no responsibility for training registrations not submitted or inappropriately submitted with errors intended for class enrolment and followup due to internet anomalies.")

CONDITIONS
PERSONAL INFORMATION PROTECTION POLICYThis information is collected under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act for the purposes of processing your registrations and training material delivery. This information is not shared, sold or distributed and is maintained in a confidential and secure manner.
INCIDENTALSMeals, travel, and overnight accommodation (if applicable) are not included. Each student is responsible for making his/her own arrangements.
COURSE PREREQUISITESCourse prerequisites and/or equivalent experience is strongly recommended prior to enrolment.
TRAINING ENVIRONMENTTraining Courses are delivered in an adult learning environment, this training is delivered to a larger percentage of what is to be considered and developed for the building inspector with a Ministry recommended timeline focusing on code enforcement and navigation of the code in which some individuals may not be comfortable with. Training is delivered in this pre-determined environment, the oboa cannot guarantee individuals who attend training and who are not satisfied with those set environments, complete successfully.
FINAL EXAMA final exam mark falling between (0%-39%) is considered a fail and the student will have to re-take the course. A one-time re-write is offered if a passing mark falls between (40%-69%). Responding to the OBOA Provincial Office after 60 days from the date of notification of the unsuccessful passing of the final exam dissolves the student’s option to the one-time re-write of the final exam. The re-write can be proctored by, a course facilitator, a CBO, Municipal Clerk or at the OBOA Provincial Office. If you fail a second time, you will be obliged to take the course again.
RESOURCE MATERIALSSome courses require specific and or suggested resource materials be brought to class. Details on which resource materials that are recommended for training can be found on the course registration confirmation return letter. The student is responsible for acquiring all necessary resource material prior to the first day of the class. You understand that all content and information, whether publicly posted or privately transmitted, are the sole responsibility of the person from which such content originated. This means that you and not OBOA, are entirely responsible for the interpretation of that content that you acquire from those sources by means of email, transmit or otherwise referred through via the Registration Process. The OBOA does not control the content suggested via the Registration Process and as such, does not guarantee the accuracy, integrity or quality of such content. You understand that by using the Registration Process, you may be exposed to content that is objectionable. Under no circumstances will OBOA be liable in any way for any content, including, but not limited to, for any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of any content suggested, emailed, transmitted or otherwise made available through the Registration Process. This information is provided solely as a convenience to you.
CANCELLATIONSCancellations will only be accepted in writing (via fax, email or mail) Registrations cancelled 14 days prior to commencement of course will be charged a $75.00 administration fee. Registrations cancelled less than 14 days but more than 7 days prior to commencement of course will receive a 70% refund from initial registration fee or 100% credit less $75.00 administration fee towards future training. Registrations cancelled less than 7 days prior to course commencement will not receive a refund or credit.
DISCREPANCIESIn the event of discrepancies between what is posted on the WEB site and what is stated from the OBOA office, the office will always be considered correct. Prices and scheduling may change without notice.
