Online Training

Safe and efficient construction in our communities requires a high caliber of expertise among municipal building officials, builders, design professionals and other Building Code users. Keeping up-to-date on the Building Code also promotes building safety and efficient construction within the province. Those involved in the enforcement of the Building Code Act and Regulations as well as people involved in the design and supervision of construction must also keep abreast of new techniques and current Building Code requirements.

Self-study manuals have been developed to enhance the knowledge of existing code practitioners and those practitioners who wish to improve their competence in interpreting and implementing the principles of the Ontario Building Code.
Self-study manuals will also assist in identifying those areas of the OBC where additional study may be required in order to be successful in preparing for the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing qualification exams (BCIN).
Manuals are included with your course registration, there is no need to order the manual separately. You will need your own copy of the 2012 Ontario Building Code, available through Publications Ontario.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: All manuals are currently updated to the 2012 Ontario Building Code that went into effect January 1, 2014. All manuals shown are updated to include the changes that are in effect as of January 1, 2020.
