Chapters
The Chapter network is a vital part of the Ontario Building Officials Association and the Chapter Officers and Committees provide the largest
part of program leadership within the Chapters existence.
In addition to being key to the success of the Chapter’s programs, the Chapter Officers and Committees in turn make important contributions
to the success of the Association’s training programs.
While being a Provincial Association has many benefits; one of the drawbacks is the inability to continually monitor and conduct the OBOA
mission throughout the province. This is where a valuable
contribution is made by local Chapters of the Ontario Building Officials Association
who retain a close relationship with the Provincial Office and yet operate independently maintaining their own
membership and holding their
own events at the local level. The Chapters subsistence is to support and further the aims and objectives of the Ontario Building Officials
Association and service
the needs of the Chapter members in the area of Building Code Enforcement.
Groups of members of the Association, in individual geographical areas, or with specific interests, desiring to form local Chapters for
purposes of the advancement of the aims and objectives of
the Association, may apply to the OBOA Board of Directors for authority to
organize as chapters.
