“As Chapter Chair of the Building Administration Chapter, it has been a great honour to be appointed Director of Building Administration with the Ontario Building Officials Association (OBOA). With nine years of experience as a Building Permit Coordinator, I founded the Building Administration Chapter in 2021. I believed it was important to cultivate a supportive environment that fosters information sharing, collaboration, and professional excellence, while at the same time, highlighting the vital role administrative staff play in supporting building departments. Administrative staff wear many hats and lead with unwavering commitment to serve and support others. While inspectors are out in the field as guardians helping to ensure safe, and sustainable construction, administrative staff anchor operations behind the scenes, often in the office managing day-to-day activities. I am grateful for the support of the Town of New Tecumseth and the Building Administration Chapter Executive team for helping to make this newly appointed Chapter a success. I look forward to working with the OBOA Board and staff to streamline processes and advance the building administration profession across Ontario.”
